There are three main ways to transfer pictures from your LG phone to your computer. Your can manually transfer the photos with the USB cable and software that came with your phone. Alternatively, you can download a photo app onto your smartphone so you can store your photos on the app's cloud server, then later download them to your desktop computer. Finally, some older LG models can also use Bluetooth to transfer photos.
Plug the smaller end of your phone's USB cable into the phone and plug the other end into your computer. The computer searches for the phone's software and either a dialog box appears or the phone appears as an external drive icon on your desktop.
Double-click the phone icon or use the dialog box that popped up and navigate to your phone's pictures folder.
Select the photos you want to transfer to your computer and drag them to your desktop or a folder of your choosing.
Locate a photo app that allows you to upload photos to an online server where you can access them on your computer. Some examples are Dropbox, Box, Bump and SkyDrive. Search Google Play or the Android store for more options.
Load the app on your phone and launch it. Sign in or create an account. Most apps require an account before you can transfer photos.
Click the "Upload" or similar app button to load your photos onto the app's server. Once they're on the app's cloud server you can download them onto your computer.
Log into your app account from your computer's Web browser. Some apps, such as Dropbox, give you the option to download special software on your computer so you can access your files without logging in through the browser. Install this if you want.
Download the photos from the app's server onto your desktop. This is as easy as dragging them from the Web interface to your desktop or a folder you created.
Turn on Bluetooth on your computer. There will either be an icon your toolbar to click and enable, or go to "System Preferences" (Mac) or "Control Panel" (Windows) and click the Bluetooth icon to enable it. Bluetooth is found in the "Hardware and Sound" folder under "Control Panel" on some versions of Windows.
Scroll to the Settings menu on your LG Phone and find "Bluetooth." Select it.
Select "Make discoverable" and wait for the computer to recognize the phone. You'll click an "Accept" box on either the computer or the phone to complete the pairing.
Click "Browse Device" from the dialog box that opens. The prompt may have similar wording depending on your phone's software and operating system. The folders on your phone appear in the dialog box.
Navigate to the photos folder and select the photos you want to download onto your computer. Select a destination folder and click OK to load them onto your computer.
- The Bump app allows photo transfers straight from your phone to your computer browser with just a tap of the space bar. You have to enable "share location" in your browser to use this service.
- Bump doesn't transfer full-resolution photos. To do that you'll need to use one of the other methods.
